CHLOE MEDIUMSHIP, a Dutch brand specializing in high-end spiritual jewelry, required a packaging solution that mirrored the intimate and tactile nature of their products. The project presented three distinct engineering hurdles:

  1. Chromatic Neutrality: Achieving a specific, non-standard PMS grey using eco-friendly soy-based inks.
  2. Haptic Communication: Creating a surface finish that feels “warm” and “skin-like” to complement the jewelry’s personal connection to the wearer.
  3. Kinetic Quality: Engineering a drawer mechanism that provides a “zero-resistance” feel while maintaining structural integrity over 1,200g of high-density board.

The Engineering Solution: A Brand-Driven Technical Approach

The PackTonTon Engineering Team designed a solution focused on sensory excellence, precision, and high-fidelity brand representation:

  1. Custom PMS Grey Calibration (Soy Ink Technology): To meet the brand’s requirement for a sophisticated, neutral grey, our lab formulated a custom PMS blend using sustainable soy-based inks. We implemented a Closed-Loop Color Control System to monitor ink density, ensuring that the subtle grey remained consistent across the 157g Art Paper, reinforcing the brand’s premium identity.
  2. Premium Soft-Touch Surface Architecture: For CHLOE MEDIUMSHIP, we applied a Premium Soft-touch Matte Lamination. This specialized coating creates a microscopic velvet-like texture that diffuses light more softly and provides a luxurious, high-friction grip, establishing a sense of “quiet luxury.”

Precision-Tuned Sliding Mechanics: A drawer box’s perceived value is determined by the “pull.” We utilized 1,200g Single White Board for the inner core to provide a clean, high-contrast backdrop. Our team calculated the internal tolerance gap to within 0.15mm, achieving a smooth, silent sliding motion that eliminates the “vacuum effect.”
  4. Laser-Engraved EVA Protection: The interior features a 15mm high-density white EVA insert. We employed CNC Laser Engraving to create precise, sharp-edged cavities, ensuring a secure friction-fit while maintaining a minimalist aesthetic.
